Effective Date: 11/01/2024
Introduction

Welcome to Uno Re, the forefront of innovation in decentralized coverage services, aiming to transform the landscape of risk management and decentralized coverage. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a comprehensive legal agreement between you (the user) and Uno Re, governing your use of the Uno Re platform (the "Services") along with all associated services provided by the Uno Re Decentralized Autonomous Organization (Uno Re DAO) and its affiliates including but not limited to: app.unore.io; watchdog.unore.io; app.unore.io/governance.

Prior to engaging with the Services, it's essential that you carefully read and fully understand these Terms as they form a binding contract regarding your use of Uno Re's innovative platform.

1. About Uno Re DAO

Uno Re DAO is a decentralized application (dApp) committed to reshaping how users interact with decentralized coverage services and democratizing access to decentralized solutions. Our platform provides a range of resources, tools, and interfaces, all designed to facilitate seamless interaction with the Services. Users can engage directly with the protocol using self-custodial wallets, embodying the spirit of autonomy and empowerment that defines the decentralized finance (DeFi) movement.

2. Eligibility Criteria

Access to the Services is contingent upon meeting specific eligibility criteria. Individuals from the U.S. or countries subject to international sanctions are explicitly excluded from participating in or using the Services. By engaging with the Services, you affirm that you are not a resident or national of any country under such sanctions, including but not limited to Côte d’Ivoire, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Sudan, or Belarus. Uno Re DAO maintains the right, at its discretion, to restrict or terminate your access to the Services without prior notice.

Uno Re DAO strictly prohibits interaction with the protocol and any of its offerings by any wallet or entity that is subject to international sanctions. If you are the holder of a sanctioned wallet, you are not permitted to engage with the Uno Re protocol in any capacity. Uno Re DAO reserves the right to take appropriate measures to enforce this prohibition, including but not limited to restricting access to the Services.

3. Understanding Our Services

Uno Re DAO's services leverage cutting-edge smart contracts and blockchain technology, which, while innovative, carry inherent risks. The organization strives to provide reliable and current information; however, given the experimental nature of these technologies, we cannot guarantee the absolute accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of all data or services provided. Users are thus encouraged to exercise caution and due diligence when interacting with the Services.

4. Comprehensive User Responsibilities and Liability

Engaging with Uno Re's Services places significant responsibilities and liabilities on you as a user. Understanding and adhering to these is crucial for safe and effective use of the platform:

Security of Wallet and Credentials:

Your wallet and its credentials are your responsibility. Maintaining their confidentiality and security is paramount to protecting your assets and identity within the DeFi space. Loss or compromise of private keys, mnemonic phrases, or other sensitive information can lead to unauthorized access or loss of assets. Vigilance and secure storage practices are your primary defenses against such incidents.

Accountability for Activities:

You are solely responsible for all activities conducted under your account or wallet. This includes monitoring for any unauthorized or suspicious activity and promptly notifying Uno Re DAO of any such occurrences. Regular review of account activity and maintaining robust security measures are critical in safeguarding your assets.

Informed Decision-Making and Research:

The decentralized nature of the platform means it operates differently from traditional finance. It's incumbent upon you to research, understand, and make informed decisions about the services, coverage options, and contracts you engage with. The absence of centralized authority in DeFi underscores the importance of personal due diligence.

Legal and Tax Compliance:

You are responsible for understanding and complying with all legal and tax implications of your activities on the Uno Re platform. This includes reporting and paying taxes on any gains, understanding and complying with local and international laws regarding cryptocurrency and any other regulatory requirements. Since Uno Re DAO does not provide legal or tax advice, consulting with a qualified professional is strongly recommended.

Assumption of Risk:

Engaging with DeFi services involves various risks, including technical vulnerabilities, market volatility, and regulatory uncertainty. By using the Services, you acknowledge and accept these risks, understanding that Uno Re DAO is not liable for any direct or indirect losses you may incur as a result of these risks. You are using the platform at your own risk, and it is advisable to only engage with assets and services you are prepared to risk.

Indemnification:

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Uno Re DAO and its affiliates from any claim, demand, damage, or loss, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from your use of the Services, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.

5. Liquidity Providers and Risk Participation:

As a participant in the Uno Re DAO ecosystem, particularly as a Risk Investor or Liquidity Provider (LP), you play a crucial role in the platform's functionality and risk distribution. This participation, while potentially lucrative, carries its own set of risks and responsibilities. You must fully understand the mechanisms, potential rewards, and risks involved in providing liquidity, including the possibility of impermanent loss or claim payouts. Participating in these capacities means accepting these risks and responsibilities as your own.

As a Liquidity Provider (LP) within the Uno Re DAO ecosystem, it is crucial to recognize that the liquidity you provide may be utilized for claim payouts, which entails a risk of potential loss of funds. It is important to understand that new deposits into a liquidity pool do not guarantee reimbursement of previous deposits in the event of a claim payout. By staking funds in a pool, you acknowledge and accept this risk as a condition of your participation.

6. Intellectual Property Rights

All materials on the Uno Re platform, including texts, graphics, logos, and software, are either the proprietary property of, or licensed to, Uno Re DAO. These materials are protected by intellectual property laws and are provided solely for your personal, non-commercial use. Any unauthorized use, reproduction, modification, or distribution of the materials is strictly prohibited and may result in legal action.

7. Claims Process and the Role of DAO

The claims process is a vital component of Uno Re DAO's platform, governed by the Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO). The DAO ensures that claim adjudications are conducted transparently and democratically. As a user or participant in the DAO, you may be involved in governance decisions, including claims adjudication. Understanding the governance structure and how it influences the claims process is essential for active and informed participation.

8. Risks and Liability Disclaimer

As a user of the Uno Re DAO decentralized application, it is important to acknowledge and accept the inherent risks associated with blockchain technology and decentralized finance protocols. These risks include, but are not limited to:

Protocol Failure:

The possibility of complete or partial failure of the Uno Re DAO protocol, which could lead to loss of funds or data.

Targeted Attacks and Smart Contract Vulnerabilities:

The risk of hacking, other malicious activities, and potential vulnerabilities in smart contract code, potentially leading to the loss or theft of funds.

Economic and Oracle Attacks:

Risks related to economic manipulations, such as flash loan attacks or pump and dump schemes, and the reliance on external data sources (oracles) which might be manipulated or inaccurate.

Market Fluctuations and Technical Glitches:

Exposure to technical issues or market fluctuations that can impact the platform's operation.

Regulatory Changes:

Potential changes in regulations that could affect the operation and use of the platform.

Other Unforeseen Risks:

Any other risks not explicitly mentioned here, including unknown and unforeseeable risks inherent in any technological or financial system.

Uno Re DAO and its affiliates expressly disclaim liability for any losses or damages that may arise from the use of the Uno Re DAO decentralized application, related to these or any other risks. The contracts underpinning the Uno Re DAO protocol are transparent and publicly accessible for anyone's review. By using the Uno Re DAO dApp, you acknowledge that you are doing so at your own risk, fully understanding and accepting the potential for financial loss and the various types of risks involved.

9. Amendments to Terms

Uno Re DAO reserves the right to modify, alter, or update these Terms at any time. Significant changes will be communicated through the platform or other appropriate channels. Your continued use of the Services following any changes signifies your acceptance of the revised terms.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Uno Re DAO disclaims all liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising from or related to your use of the platform and Services. This includes damages for loss of profits, goodwill, use, data, or other intangible losses, even if Uno Re DAO has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

12. Third-Party Links and Services

The platform may feature links to third-party websites or services. While these links are provided for your convenience, Uno Re DAO does not endorse or assume responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites. Interaction with these external services is at the user's risk, and it is advisable to review the terms and privacy policies of any third-party websites before engaging with them.

13. Coverage Options and User's Due Diligence

Uno Re DAO offers a variety of coverage options, each with specific terms and conditions. It's incumbent upon you, the user, to thoroughly understand the coverage you're considering, including the risks, terms, policy duration, and claims process. Regular review of coverage details and staying informed about changes in the platform's offerings are essential to making informed decisions.

14. Accessing Coverage Information

Comprehensive information about each coverage option is available for users seeking to make informed decisions. This includes detailed definitions, descriptions, policy durations, claims assessment processes, and other relevant terms and conditions.
